Olympic 2012 Legacy

This very fun project, commissioned by London agency Wood&Wood, looked at ways to support wayfinding in the Olympic Park area after the games have come and gone.

Because the area will actually become fairly heavily residential, an inobtrusive, visually minimal form was proposed.

To deliver cross-cultural and even non-visual functionality, a spatially realistic map is embossed on tables supported by 'lollipops' that pinpoint your current position on the map.

Each lollipopo carries an Olympic sport icon, each of which corresponds to a particular junction on the map, to aid simple and memorable direction-giving.

The project was enthusiastically received, being shortlisted for final selection by the client.
